Help Alexis Hope Golden’s story reach someone new.

Hello, my Name is Jacquelin Golden my daughters name is Alexis-Hope Golden and this is her journey.

When Alexis-Hope was 4 years old this was 2015 she started getting stomach pains. Slowly she would get them during the night which at first we thought were night terrors. Then we would take her in at least once a month to the Emergency room this was for 8 months.  They kept saying UTI which meant more medications. Well one day In October 2015 she was on the floor screaming and crying. We live in Wyoming and I finally said it’s time to head to Childrens Hospital Colorado. We got there and after an hour Alexis-Hope was hospitalized. We saw a nephrologist for the first time. She had a kidney biopsy and they found FSGS kidney disease.

In December 2015 they made a decision to start peritoneal dialysis. In June 2016 Alexis-Hope was blessed with a Kidney transplant. Everything was going great until August 2023. Alexis-Hope at that time was just starting junior high. One day she came home with bumps we took her straight in to the pediatrician the did labs and her creatinine was a 10. They hospitalized her again and sadly her transplant rejected.  They tried everything to save that transplant and nothing was working. They decided to start PD dialysis again In February 2024.

She did have someone who was able to Donate but that sadly didn’t work out, and this is where Alexis-Hope is at today. She is waiting for a kidney transplant. What’s harder this time around is her PRA  she has a lot of antibodies built up and it’s harder to find a match.  We know one day it will happen but until then this girl is thriving as a freshman in school; she cheers, does choir, and loves art. She is strong and tackles every new problem head on.
